Ensure compliance with Customs Legislation Ensure the application of the legislation and regulations and assess them depending on their perimeter’s requirements Introduce tools to assist in avoiding investigations, litigations, and fines Provide assistance with investigations or litigations to the legal departments or operations Respect Trade embargoes / restrictions (trade sanctions, dual use items, export controls, bilateral agreements, FTA’s NDS opportunities) in their area Ensure the regulations regarding current embargoes and restrictions are respected Communicate with the individuals in their area of responsibility on the impact and risks in the event that embargoes and restrictions are not respected, and provide related training Ensure that tools are introduced in order to avoid non-compliance shipments Implement automatic checks on shipments, and monitor manual checks, if automatic checks are unavailable Recommend measures to take in the event that a shipment Is identifies as non-compliance, preventing ius from taking charge of the shipment Develop and implement new customs offers for customers Design innovative solutions aimed at developing new services for customers, working together with Marketing Department Issue opinions and recommendations to the Front Office during replies to tenders Carry out audit and customs engineering assignments, include implementing new processes and new procedures, assist with the arrangement of customs authorizations and customs clearance operations, and the certification process, and draw up innovative solutions for customers, etc. Anticipate risk Assess and anticipate risks in their perimeter Suggest solutions for improving and developing the risks prevention policy Manage exposure to customs risk on a monthly basis in their perimeter Monitor all the customs disputes on a monthly basis Coordinate the branches customs and compliance managers from s functional standpoint Manage exposure to customs risks (suspension schemes, direct removals, payment and guarantee) Take responsibility in case of failure Perform a regulatory watch, and communicate with the network Keep up-to-date with regulatory changes relating to customs, embargoes, and restrictions that are linked to their region’s business activities Draw up briefing notes on specific issues for the carious branches, if requires Ensure expertise (training, and identifying shortcoming, etc.) in their country Guarantee the correct application of internal procedures Actively participate in a network or communicate of external practitioners Take part in work on the oversight process, and determine standards and best practices in the customs, embargo, and restrictions fields as part of external cross-divisional teams Lobby the bodies concerned, including customs authorities, and professional representative bodies Ensure quality of service in his perimeter Ensure quality of service in their perimeter when it comes to timely and sound customs clearance Maintain integrity and optimization of HS codes used. Requirements Bachelor's or master's Degree from recognized university or relevant qualification Minimum 10 years of experience in Logistics and/or Supply Chain, Customs Compliance company, with 5 years in senior management Technical Skills Full understanding of logistics and shipping management including the 3 PL relationship Full understanding of commercial concerns, operational practices and decision-making regarding global materials sourcing decisions Clear understanding of corporate operational and financial controls and the internal/external enforcement mechanism of corporate business ethics Strong data analytical Skill Excellent oral, written and presentation skills in English Strong Negotiation skill Excellent in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point Numeracy & Statistics Skills Supply Chain, Logistics, International freight forwarding, Customs clearance
