The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing field activities with precision, managing a team of dedicated researchers, driving innovative breeding strategies, overseeing the program budget, and upholding our company’s core values.Responsabilidades: ​Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and establish field trials to evaluate genetic treatments in regards to yield, wood properties, tolerance to pest and diseases, optimal stem form and adaptation.Lead and mentor a team of researchers and field technicians, contributing to an environment of collaboration and professional development.Develop and execute breeding strategies aligned with the company’s long-term goals and market demands.Manage the program’s budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and effectively.Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to communicate progress and align research objectives with broader organizational goals.Uphold and promote the company’s values of Quality, Productivity, and Cost in all aspects of the program.QualificationsPhD or Master’s degree in Forestry, Genetics, Plant Sciences, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in research and/or tree breeding and genetics, preferably with eucalyptus and acacia species.Proven track record of managing field research activities and delivering results.Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing teams.Excellent budget management and strategic planning abilities.Ability to communicate and present effectively at all levels.High-level proficiency in Trial Management covering experimental designs, trial establishment, trial maintenance, trial assessment.High-level proficiency in Plant Propagation comprising tree selection, coppice management, marcotting, grafting.High-level proficiency in Orchard Management, orchard establishment, flowering monitoring, seed harvesting and seed processing.Mid-level proficiency in Quantitative Genetics and trial.Commitment to the company’s values of Team Work, Ownership, People, Integrity, Continuous Improvement and Customer.What We OfferA dynamic and supportive work environment with professional growth and development opportunities.Competitive salary and benefits package.
